REMEMBERED
Are you in the season of waiting? Waiting for a breakthrough, an answered prayer, a miracle? I found encouragement in the book of Genesis, the story of creation is so amazing and also, in this book God showed me how He remembered and made fruitful, three generations of barren women - Sarah (Abraham’s wife), Rebekah (Isaac’s wife) and Rachel (Jacob’s wife). God is faithful and He remembers.
“The LORD graciously remembered and visited Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did for her as He had promised. So Sarah conceived and gave birth to a son for Abraham in his old age, at the appointed time of which God had spoken to him.” (Genesis 21:1-2 AMP)
“Isaac prayed to the Lord on behalf of his wife, because she was childless. The Lord answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant.” (Genesis 25:21 NIV)
“Then God remembered [the prayers of] Rachel, and God thought of her and opened her womb [so that she would conceive].” (Genesis 30:22 AMP)
God graciously remembered them, opened their womb to allow them to conceive and give birth to the men God have used to bring about His purpose - Sarah is the mother of Isaac, Rebekah is the mother of Jacob and Rachel is the mother of Joseph.
This truth gives me hope. God’s Word is so beautiful and wonderful that even though it happened thousands of years ago, it will always hold true yesterday, today and forever. God can create something out of nothing, His promise always comes to fruition and He makes it fruitful.
Don’t waste your waiting season, make it fruitful by seeking the Lord’s will, building intimacy with Him, worshipping the Lord with reverence and understanding the joy of His salvation. He remembers and your waiting season will become fruitful.
