FULFILLED

It’s not about what Jesus is going to do for me but what He’s already done - on the cross and in His resurrection.

When I accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and Saviour He became everything I truly needed.

Jesus as my Lord and Saviour changed my perspective:
- from earthly to eternal
- from I deserve this to I deserve nothing
- from ownership to stewardship
- from self love to sacrificial love
- from my will to not my will but Yours be done

Everything is by the grace of our Lord Jesus.

The book of Philippians is one of the prison epistles of Paul, he wrote it while incarcerated but it’s considered one of Paul’s most joyful letters. He encourages the Philippian believers to rejoice in spite of suffering and anxiety, to rejoice in serving and continue to look to Jesus as the object of their faith and hope. One of my favourite verses is Philippians 4:11-13. To be fulfilled and filled with joy, God taught me the following:

J - Jesus is the only one that satisfies.

“Not that I speak from [any personal] need, for I have learned to be content [and self-sufficient through Christ, satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or uneasy] regardless of my circumstances.” (v11)

O - Overflowing grace and abounding love from Jesus will sustain us in all circumstances.

“I know how to get along and live humbly [in difficult times], and I also know how to enjoy abundance and live in prosperity. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret [of facing life], whether well-fed or going hungry, whether having an abundance or being in need.” (v12)

Y - Yielding with Jesus will give us strength and empower us to fulfill the Lord’s purpose, His presence is sufficient.

“I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]” (v13)
